The New Jersey Studies Academic Alliance (NJSAA), the Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference (MARAC) New Jersey Caucus, and the Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music (BSCAM) are thrilled to announce the second annual NJ Archival Film Festival, a celebration of the stories preserved in your vaults and the vital work you do.
The event will take place on Saturday, November 7th, at Monmouth University's Great Hall.
Institutions outside of New Jersey are also welcome to participate as long as the film content relates directly to New Jersey history or culture or was created by a New Jersey-based individual or organization.
This is a unique opportunity to spotlight your collections, showcase the impact of your institution, and remind the public why archives matter.
We invite New Jersey archives, libraries, and museums to submit short films (up to 10 minutes) held in their collections. Submissions may include—but are not limited to—documentaries, short films, performance recordings, home movies, and public service films. These films do not need to relate directly to New Jersey; they may also reflect broader historical or cultural themes.
To be eligible, films must:
Be no longer than 10 minutes
Be held in a museum, archival, library, etc repository
Be submitted in digital format
We also ask that a representative from your institution be available to briefly introduce the film in person at the festival on Saturday, November 7, at Monmouth University's Great Hall.
